Coach Taylor Gernhart

Taylor Gernhart has been competing at the All-Star level since she was 13 years old. She cross competed at several All-Star cheerleading gyms in Las Vegas, Nevada and attended the 2009 Cheerleading World Competition. After moving to Oregon, she joined the Tualatin High School Dance Team. At this time she also began competing with the Westside All Star Dance Team. She traveled with the team to compete in the 2010, 2011, and 2012 Dance World Competition earning an amazing 6th place!

Taylor started choreographing at 17 years old for the youth, junior, and senior teams of the Westside All Star Dance Team and other teams. She is excited to be working with West Sylvan and to bring some new choreography flavor to the team! 

Coach Jasmin Calvillo-Ruelas

Jasmin started dancing at 12 years old when she signed up for Summer classes at Spotlight Performing Arts. Shortly after, she attended Milwaukie Academy of the Arts where she became a member of the Milwaukie Pony Prancers (Milwaukie High School). Throughout this time, she continued to take classes at Spotlight, where she trained under Karissa Dean, Morgan Kishpaugh, and Timothy Johnson. After high school, she trained at In Motion Dance and Movement under the direction of Karissa Dean. There she took privates, as well as helped teach technique classes. 

She started coaching the West Sylvan Dance Team in 2015, as an assistant coach. 

Head Coach Keeley Driscoll

Keeley began dancing at the Multnomah Athletic Club as a member of their competitive dance program; she was also a member of the MAC's competitive gymnastics team for 4 years simultaneously. Once in middle school, she became a member and captain of the first ever West Sylvan Middle School Dance Team in 2003/2004.

She attended Lincoln High School where she was a member of the Lincoln Dance Team for 4 years and was voted captain in her senior year. During her high school years, she trained at Elite Dance Studio under Sara Anderson, Shelly Misevch, Kristin Bacon, and Sonya Duffin. She trained at Jefferson for 2 years under Melissa St. Clair, Les Boday, and Steve Gonzalez. She was a part of the Repertory Dance Company through Jefferson, under Melissa St. Clair, and was a part of the Competitive Company at Elite Dance Studio. When competing with Elite Dance Studio at the Los Angeles Dance Force Convention in Portland, OR, she won an LADF Convention Scholarship. In 2008, at the Oregon Dance and Drill State Championships she received 1 of 2 Oregon Dance & Drill Dance Scholarship Awards and was chosen as a member of the Oregon All State Dance Team.

Her history coaching the West Sylvan Dance Team began when she was the Assistant Coach for West Sylvan Dance Team from 2004-2005; she soon became a Coach and Choreographer in 2005 and continues to do so today. 

She graduated from Mills College, a small private Liberal Arts school in Oakland, CA in 2012 with a degree in Business Economics. She was honored with awards from Omicron Delta Epsilon- the international honorary society in economics and the Palladium- a distinctive honor society recognizing juniors and seniors who combine academic excellence with service to Mills.

Through college she studied Ballet under Sonya Delwaide-Nichols. In her sophomore year at Mills College, she founded the first ever Mills College Dance Club and was the President throughout. She also spent a semester studying in London.

After spending one year in Los Angeles working as a talent manager, Keeley has returned to the Portland area to coach and choreograph full time! She has since become the Head Coach and Choreographer for the Lincoln High School Dance Team as well!
